Obento Japan

Obento is Japanese lunch box. These are often sold in Japanese railwaystations. In the old times there was often (very) old man standing with his stand and selling "hinomaru bento". This special lunch box was a square shaped box, filled with rice. Ume, a red pickled plum in the center formed flag of Japan, hinomaru.
There are several different ones you can find, they usually include different kind of vegetables, fish, sometimes plain white rice, sometimes red rice. Also they often include udon, and sometimes sushi, raw fish. Nowadays they are often packed into transparent plastic, but you can find sometimes them in wooden boxes too. Look from JR stations nearby Yokohama. That's Obento's paradise!
